I, too, gave up using Word / Outlook and Google using Dragon - However, I now have the Dragon 16 Pro and that works without crashing anything. Looking at the other negative reviews, I will add that customer services have always been super helpful and also if you have lost a disk - there is a download site (https://download.nuance.com/) - It could not be simpler.

Based on the reviews below, I was worried about installing this extension. Have to say, I have had absolutely no problems. To the contrary, it has greatly improved my ability to use this extension within Google Chrome. not sure if it makes a difference but I use the nuance PowerMic and have also installed the PowerMic extension. Together, dictation is faster, more accurate and I enjoy the ability to be able to correct dictation errors within Google Chrome. I have had no issues with crashing or any other problems.

I too have used it for over 20 years and continually through out the day have the browser crashes at least 15 time a day. Pure rubbish.

I have used it in a professional setting in the past and bought it personally, but it doesn't work. It hasn't worked for months. I have called help before. I called today and got a great help person and he couldn't fix it but he said his supervisor will call me back.

been using Dragon for over 20 yearsso, have extensive experience. browser extensio, n never worked well but in the last few years it crashes frequently sometimes four or five times a day requiring it to reload. Microsoft has purchased this company you would think they can get this working.

I used Dragon 15 for years and I loved it. When 16 female I decided to purchase the upgrade. Not because I needed to, but because I love the software and figured it had to be an improvement. I was very wrong! What was meant to save time and make life easier has become the very thing making my life difficult a big part of the time. It's really discouraging to see all these reviews saying the exact same thing for so long and nothing being done about it. If you are considering spending money on Dragon, I would highly suggest going a different route! Literally every one of these reviews describes my exact experience. Total garbage!

I also have been using Dragon for about 20 years. the support used to be great and they kept up with updates. The last several years. Getting it to work in any browser is a constant challenge. Have to use their dictation pad and copy and paste. So close to being awesome I don't know why they don't fix it.

The extension has always had problems, now frequently asking if I want to restore it in Chrome...then sometimes works and others not...I just restored it and not working at all.

I have been using Dragon for close to 20 years. It was great in the beginning everybody was very kind and helpful. But it did generated as it went. It has never worked at perfection like the advertise and specially because of the price which is way too much. The problem is there is not really a good company out there to replace it so they don't care. It's a shame because the product works well when it functions to its limits. But that's not a given. I have tried Microsoft and it's very disappointing so here we are left with Dragon unless somebody has an idea for another company that has replaced the same function without a outrageous price. Having been using Dragon NatuallySpeaking for years, but cannot recommend it to anyone. It is buggy, has been for years and will cost you many hours of grief addressing all the problems. My advice is to learn to touch type, if you are able. It will save you an enormous amount of time and frustration.

Will not work on 19% of websites because it does not work in encapsulated DOM (https://chromestatus.com/metrics/feature/timeline/popularity/804) Some popular examples include: "reddit" and "microsoft co-pilot"

I am having the same issues as others below me with the newer version of Dragon and the extension not working at all. What's up Dragon? You guys Normally do better than this.

Albert Yoshida

Few issues I have. The extension has to be reloaded every time I start a session. That makes no sense, what's the purpose? I have to start every paragraph with CAP and then I can say the word. If I pause in the middle of a sentence, it will auto cap. There is no learning I can see taking place, often mispelling words I regularly use. Words get put in without saying anything, similar to other comments. I have high volume need to use by will type, just as I am now, to ensure accuracy. I use about 30% of time due the hassles I encounter.

Had Dragon/Nuance since Ver4 ? up to Ver12? Was excellent, but last years caused so many issues, including slowdowns, locking, copy/paste to applications, microphones not working, etc. Blamed win10 and went to win11 and Chrome. Removed it from pc after BSOD while trying to use. Company has/had other activities and got impression this was a secondary market that appears to have been neglected after niche markets of health and law. Hope things change, as said, it was excellent. Just don't want to wipe/reload pc again. Very disappointing.

Take up too much RAM, and slows other programs down or freezes them up. It constantly inserts the word him randomly when I am dictating. Or as long as the program has been out and the cost of it it should operate a lot smoother. It just starts typing him him him him him him him when nothingn is being said or him him when there is no background noise. See what I mean.

Hans Judek

The program has a lot of annoying features/problemms like tthe double characters in this liine (I don't correct it to jusst show how bad it is). I have to doo a lot of manual fixing, for exxample an exttra space in front of a period. In ALL cases, no exxception. Typing in Microsoft Word still works best and I copy and pasted into other appliccations. Odd! Unfortunately, despitte all these downsides Dragon is stiill the best dictation sooftware in the market. I am still lookking.

I've been an advocate of Dragon from the day that it was incorporated many years ago I've gone from issue version 1 with version 16, with the acquisition by Microsoft I was truly hoping that the financial inputs of this software would make it vast or more reliable and consistent in its use but unfortunately it has the inherent problems of extensions continuously keep dropping off and the system requiring a reload continuously hindering the process of working with the utilisation of the Dragon system it would be lovely to understand why the extensions are not compatible with Microsoft or Chrome and why they continuously keep dropping off halfway through its operation.

Severely physically disabled from MS but with a brain as yet entirely intact, my study hobby ha become my way of life. But unable properly to write or even hold a pen anymore , this would have been impossible but for Dragon NaturallySpeaking. She doesn't get it right all the time, in spite of the publicity blurb, but correction is easy and in the 13 years since the inception of the FutureLearn platform I study with, I have completed 214 courses. That's an enormous boon for me but it's also a tribute to DNS. With more specialised versions equally applicable to the Medical or Academic worlds, or the basic Home edition which is ample for my needs, if you want to simplify your day by using your voice instead of tedious writing, Dragon is the program for you!

MICHAEL ING

It doesn't always work and keeps needing reinstalling

Robert Farzad

This extension keeps crashing and has to be reinstalled every single day.

GQGeorge (GQ)

Pros Boosted Productivity: I enhanced the amount of work I was able to do on any given day by dictating text, clicking through web elements, and controlling my browsers, whether it be Chrome, Mozilla, opera or even midooori with voice commands. Versatile Compatibility: I like the compatibility with many web applications, including popular platforms like Google Docs, Gmail, YouTube, and Rumble, for crying out loud! Cons Voice Recognition Precision: The accuracy of the software's voice recognition is influenced by speech nuances and ambient environment, leading me to be challenged occasionally. That was very frustrating! Compatibility Limitation: Exclusive compatibility with Dragon 13 or later may disappoint users with older versions, limiting access to this powerful tool. One notable downside is the extensions or chromes idiotic tendency to disable itself without user input, which disrupts an otherwise seamless experience. In conclusion, the Dragon Web Extension can be a valuable ally for those seeking improved workflow and a more streamlined workflow. While it offers a sleek design and compatibility with various web applications, there are considerations regarding voice recognition precision and compatibility limitations. However, for many users, the benefits may outweigh these drawbacks.

I really love Dragon but get annoyed by having to reinstall the Firefox extension every day. It is easy enough to do and after that one click, everything runs smoothly

Lance Burdett

Chrome continues to remove the web extension, so frustrating at having to reinstall

David Rudmin

It constantly freezes up, and so you have to quick go find the switch to turn it off, and then turn it back on. But you do need it, because otherwise Dragon will double letters, all over everywhere.
